1999 Vitz digital speedo

Hi all,

I have a 1999 Vitz with the digital speedo.

However, the digital display isnt 100% good in the sense that when for example the number '1' replaces a 0 the lines of the 0 still appear a bit in the background so its like it doesnt refresh correctly. You can see the green stuff where its not supposed to especially when you turn on the lights and the display dims so the contrast is less and it displays more. I know you can get the display to brighten up by pressing the right most button but still i dont like this problem.

Is there a way to solve this or buy and replace the part?

Thanks

Not sure it would be easy to replace just part of that - might need the whole thing. Interesting problem, replacing/repairing a ten-year-old digital part.

What do you mean by the 'whole thing'? The whole dash?

Probably the control board unit behind the display, as most of those things are surface mounted to the control board, well, the lights anyway.

May not be this way with your model tho
