1nz Disassembly & Reassembly.
Ok so I wanted to build a 1nz for turbo with the hopes of pushing 250-275hp atw. I also wanted to save money and do most of the work myself. So I thought I'd disassemble and reassemble a stock motor (which I will turbo first) to make sure I was capable of getting it to work as it should.
Although there are a couple of build threads out there on the 1nz. I struggled to get my head around the idea and didn't fully understand the process. That's not to say that they aren't informative (because they most definitely are), I just couldn't visualise what was going on. It honestly took me a year of reading the same threads over and over before I felt confident enough to put my plans into action. I then decided to record my build and share it with others. Hopefully this helps anyone in the same boat. I gather that most of you are pretty knowledgeable when it comes to this sort of thing. But for me, I know this would have helped me that extra bit. I feel pretty awkward about posting this. As I don't feel as though I have the right to make a D.I.Y./tutorial on anything mechanical. To give you an idea, before taking this on I hadn't even attempted an oil change because I felt incompetent. And I truly was. So if you do watch these videos please don't view them as a tutorial (as much as it comes across like I'm trying to be a 'know it all' ). It's just a look at my experience and I'm just trying to make the process that little bit easier to interpret. Here is a link to my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEu...tyWGYb0OiL6yvw I hope this can be of benefit to someone. |
