Regular car wash, or Dealer car wash?
Someone mentioned that when you get your car washed that you should go to the dealer to maintain warranty. Another said that it was highly unlikely that your neighborhood car wash would mess up your car.
What should I do. Dealer car wash, or regular old school car wash???? Let me know what you think! |

Well personally, I have a 15,000 mile free car wash coupon for my dealer, which shoehorns perfectly in my regular car washing schedule, so I'll be letting them handle it. ;)

With that said, anyone who told you washing your own car would void the warranty is an idiot, and you should cease being friends with them.

ain't that the truth! I would also advise then next time you see them to cut them off from the or else you could just tell them they are full of and then after you P.S. if you do the above mentioned make sure you get good pics! Ok....I am done being an ass for the day.

Personally, I will never let someone or something else wash my car...not a machine...and definitly not a guy from a dealer. Do you really think, if the guy from the dealer drops his washing glove on the ground, that he will wash it or change it before using it on your paint...yeah right...like he cares!
My concern is the job quality...and the price they charge for the crappy service they offer that you can do better by yourself for a lot less. Here is my advice, go to the dealer only to buy a car...nothing else. |

How about carwashes where they run it through the machine?
I know, this should all be really easy for me, but I want to do it right. I'm not able to do it myself. Should I go to one of those car washes that do it by hand, or run it through the electronic car wash thing. I hate birds, they crapped all over the hood, and front lights. |

Nothing really wrong with the touchless car wash. If I am cramped for time and go thru a wash I go to the one near me....only thing is that they detail prior on the Supreme wash and I specifically tell them that the can only use the preasure hose and not the brushes they use....they questioned me on this at first cause you "pay" for the brushing, but I don't care...no brushes on any car of mine!

items needed: - any liquid or gel car wash...I prefer gel - a clean wash mitt - a clean Chamois Rules: - Use a water hose to get rid of surface dirt all around your car - Clean wash mitt and chamois with water and soap - Use wash mitt with gel car wash to wash your car...don't ever use Dishwashing Liquid...unless you do it in the purpose of waxing your car in the minute after. - Always wash the car from the top to the bottom...once you have done the bottom you can't go back on the top. The reason is simple...the dirt on the bottom of the car (bottom sides, bumper) is the kind of dirt that can damage your paint the most. On the road, you're car will catch bugs, grease, rubber (that they use to fill holes on the road)...the sand and little rocks stick to those...you don't want to put these all around your car while washing it. - DO NOT drop you wash mitt on the ground...do I have to explain why? - Wash the wheels at the end. - Don't try to wash your tires with your wash mitt! - Use hose frequently to get rid of the remaining soap on the car...you don't want it to dry...it leaves ugly spots. - Use wet chamois to avoid water spots on the paint - Use chamois from top to bottom...same rule When everything is done, take the time to clean the mitt and the chamois with water and soap so it will be clean next time you use it. Your done. I do not recommend any car wash. The reason is that it keeps dirt from other vehicules on the brushes. I also not recommend the touchless car wash because pressure hose on paint can be damageable with time. have fun! |

I have some stuff to add. If you absolutely cannot wash the car yourself. Go to a laser wash, they are brushless, still bad but better than anything else. If you are skilled and can watch for stuff on your paint you can use a chamois or squeegie they do the same thing. but I prefer microfibre. If you use a chamois or squeegie you take the risk of dragging something across your paint that might get caught in front of it, even a bug is harmful. Microfibre on the other hand has whats called nap. Which is its ability to put stuff like that inside of the fibres away from the paint. Which is also why you don't use synthetic sponges. Dry your windows last, they hold water better than paint does, that or use a squeegie for the windows only. Don't forget to get the plastic inside the fenderwells, and if you have allows I have found that Eagle1s spray on wax is perfect for brakedust repellent. And finally NO CIRCLES!!!!!! May god curse you if you do, its as bad a blasphemy
