Thats a tiny intercooler. Won't be surprised if you dont get heat soaked. and with it's location I hope you have a hood to support it's off-side placement. Also looks like you got in a hurry towards the end of your project. not sure if all of this was well thought of before you placed things. Parts of it just look messy and not finalized. I think your intercooler size and placement will be an issue.

I'm not not knocking your efforts, I just think part of its not well thought through or finished looking.

I see nothing wrong with your intercooler placement. Remember this motor is only a 1L. The IC is an ok size. Having one too large and more piping will only result in turbo lag. You're current setup looks fine. Keep up the good work.

placement of that intercooler will be fine...............as long as you can get air into it. And i'd rather have a little lag than heat soak.

thanks

if you people have noticed so i have installed a powerful fan just below the intercooler which clears the heat thing issue.

As far as the performance is concerned so its going much better, we are having no dyno machines here but i think its making around 110 to 120 whp

10.5 to 11 is a little rich!

I think your AFR is fine 10.5-11 really isn't that fat, better than running lean. If you were in 13's i'd say you were to rich but your number is very common. You could lean it out a little to 8.5-9 and still be safe but lets not detonate.

My one pet-peve clean up your pipping, Looks messy. Use more aluminum pipping and a weld bung for your BOV, V-Band if possible. Just looks like you ran out of time or patience.

You're going backwards man, lower numbers are richer, and 10 is pig rich, not good for the motor.

thanks for your comments and views
actually the thing is i'm first person who has installed turbo in yaris, few people have imported yaris which already have turbo kit in it , but i have been through many experiments thats why the work is lil messy, soon ill go for almunium piping so i could have a better look in engine bay.

I had to do different experiments to make this project sucessfull, secondly as far as i think the AFR is ok
another point which i'd like to share is that, car was not getting tuned by earlier , i used to disconnect o2 sensor so the car used to get rich, without boost like below 3000 it used to be very rich and as the turbo spools it used to be perfect, and if i used to run car with o2 sensor so it used to be lean all the time but like for 3 days i didnt disconnect the o2 sensor and used to do normal cruising but yesterday i made a try, i ran car with the o2 sensor the car was perfect, in all 3 gears it was perfectly awesome. i asked my tuner he said your car has been tuned automatically via o2 sensor.
Later i made another bunk next to o2 sensor for checking the afr, the afr was 10.5 to 11, when i disconnected the wideband sensor from that bunk the car again was in old situation, was in lean with o2 sensor so now i have again closed that extra bunk in manifold which i made for checking afr and now o2 sensor is connected.

So now my question is that will o2 sensor again tune my car automatically and control the fueling accordingly ?

X2

It's a ratio of Air:Fuel not Fuel:Air

ok -- great project, best of luck with it, but I can't be helpful to anyone who maintains that 10.5 AFR isn't rich.
