Rearview camera question

Ok I'm already looking at all the things I'm going to put into my yaris when i get it (my bday is in august so i'll start hinting to my parents soon and see where that gets me =P ) Anyways, I saw Pioneer's in dash dvd/navigation system that's really nice and I was excited to see they have a rearview camera that's compatible with it also, it's the Pioneer ND-BC2. I'm wondering if anyone has this or has any idea how big it looks in person. It looks huge in the pic and I can't imagine where it would go on a yaris liftback without standing out too much. Here's a link: http://www.smarter.com/pioneer_nd_bc...pi-220989.html

Looks cheap to me...but $$..does it have night vision? Color?

You will have to mount it right under your rear stop sign (the stop sign ontop wit hteh LEDs)
If you had a HB, as for sedan..still same place, ontop..

not sure about night vision and color, i'm mainly interested in it since it'd be compatible with the pioneer screen i want, and i don't want to have a bunch of different products with monitors all in the car when i can just use one =) Not sure what you mean by "rear stop sign" but i guess i'll have to look at pics of the back of yaris hbs so i can figure it out. thanks

I have a rear view camera, but it is not the pioneer one, just a standard one. Problem with that, the head unit does not automatically switch to it when you go in reverse, while the pioneer one would.

As for mounting the pioneer one, it does look tricky to position, but you could indeed hang it off the bottom of the 3rd brake light, or if you feel adventurous, get a spoiler, and stick it under that

what brand do you have? now that i look at the camera again i don't think it would work out. i don't want it to stand out and be ugly and the only other spot would be near the liecense plate, but it might be too big hanging there and cover part of the license and the police will come after me! lol

Here's mine, it's some no-name one, but designed to be attached to the license plate frame... Not the best angle though, a higher mounted one would have been much better!

ok good that's the other one i was looking into, the roadmaster one right? i saw it at walmart. even though it doesn't give the best view, it is helpful right? and how is it set up? is there some wiring you have to do, or is it wireless?

I'm not sure of the brand, but it is wired, the guys at the workshop where I got most of my stuff done took care of installing it.

As for helpfulness, well, not really... If I need to get into a pretty tight parkig spot maybe, yeah, but because it's not automatically activated, I rarely use it...

picture was taken right after a good wax, and I used a bit of saturation enhancement in photoshop to help it glow some more

well my camera does give pretty low-saturation images by default, a bit of a boost is often needed...
