A-Pillar gauge pods that can fit tweeters?
In my '07LB I mounted my tweeters on the front most plastic pieces along the door armrest. This time, I'd like to mount the tweeters on the A-pillar w/o having to modify the A-pillar.
One way to do this would be to use A-pillar gauge pods. Has anyone found a company that makes A-pillar gauge pods for both the driver side and passenger side A-pillars? The only thing I've found are these: http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/Unive...illar-Pod.aspx http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/Unive...lar-Pod-1.aspx BUT I don't know if they'll fit over the Yaris A-pillars. Also, most tweeters I've seen use mounting hardware that require 2" or less diameter hole. These gauge pods have 2-1/16th" holes. Has anyone used these universal A-pillar gauge pods in a Yaris LB? |

I sold one of those Glowshift A-pillar things to a guy and he returned them for poor fitment. That's all i can say about that from personal experience.

Could you heat these universal pillars with a hair dryer and mold them more to the shape of the section of the Yaris A-pillars you want to put them on?

Thats what most people say you have to do as these universal pods only fit a small selection of cars. From what ive read, heating it up will allow you to sort of shape it but then again that could f**k it up if done wrong. Ive been wondering if I should order these or not for some time and just wish there was a perfect fit made for the yaris pillar.

A gauge pod is not possible because the cutain airbags are in the a-pillar. (if they exploded I get a gauge in my face) |

If your curtain airbags deploy you'll have OEM tweeter and mount in your face. The curtain airbags are near the top of the A-pillar. If they deploy, the top of the A-pillars pop first and the pillars go outwards, deploying parallel to the windshield. They don't just blow straight out towards the front passengers.

I've had that apart and the bags don't go very far down the pillar.

I like that, are those pretty much universal dash mounting pods just turned sideways?
