AEM help
Ok it took me all day but i got it wired up according to this.
http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...81&postcount=1 I did however use the Cam1 Magi-/Mago- to C20-121 instead of the Cam2 as written. So I got a base tune from pimp to try but when i put it in... i get backfires and i cant rev past 2k rpm. I unplugged it and then used the jumper harness to bypass the fic to see if it would work and it did. So what does this mean? Did i wire up something wrong? Or does the tune just not work for me...? |

Ok, first of all, what do you mean by this:

Next, did you intercept or tap the crank wires? I'm thinking that most likely you're running pimp's tune with the wrong settings, most likely regarding the MAF. For example, if you try to run MAF in voltage mode and it sees a 0 in a cell, it's going to freak the hell out. Last I knew pimp was using some sort of MAF clamp, so it's very possible. cdydjded is right though. You need to put in a blank tune and see how the car runs. The fact that the car runs fine with the bypass indicates the tune is PROBABLY the issue. |

Nooooo, you don't use cam2 because we only have one cam position sensor. There should be four right? You need to use + and - for cam1.
You could always try tapping the + crank wires instead of intercepting since it worked for me. Just go by what I PMed you. |

Do you still have O2 sensor hooked up? That tune will not prevent your car from hitting high rpm. If you continue to have problems call AEM they are extremely helpful and really know their shit. Also go to their web sight and download the latest version of FIC software to load in your FIC. My FIC would not communicate with my lap top. It was a software problem. Both cam and crank sensor wires must be attached. Also solder and shirnk wrap everything or you will have big headachs.

Thanks guys got it all sorted out and its up and running. Pimp you tune is nice just need to figure out how to adjust for my larger injectors. To think I was afraid of wiring. It's really not hard once you kno what to do. So much knowledge I have gained thanks to you all. I feel I could turbo anything lol

To change injector size, highlight the entire map, right click, then injector size change. It's pretty self explanatory from there. Best results I got were stock at 200cc, 1ZZ at 250cc. |
