I got cruise today

I finally got my cruise control installed today. Not too many miles to try it out but seems to work fine but doesn't seem too smooth going downhill as it seems to give it too much gas and backs off to much and so on but holds within 2 mph even steep uphills. Mine was $350 installed at the toyota dealer. I forget the name off hand but has been mentioned here before and starts with an R. I can't wait o see what my auttera says I'm getting for gas mileage at different speeds now that I can hold the throtle steady now.http://www.rostra.com/ac-customcruise.asp There it is!!

I have problems uploading pics on this site but they mounted the stem just below the turn signal. It's inline with the lower steering arm where you can't see it well, but it is out of the way and easy to use even without seeing it. After using it a day I think it is a little to sensitive. I think you notice this more when you have a instant gas mileage device.

dandj, can you tell me what dealer installed it for you? Did you have to purchase the part yourself, or did they order it?

I've been calling local dealers and none of them are willing to do it, but I'll be in Michigan in a few weeks.

Swaffers of Cadillac MI ordred and installed it. I believe the are now a dealer for them as they have at least 2 more Yaris customers that want this cruise. They have treated me very well so far.
They were told it would install in two hours and 3-1/2 hours later it was done, just as I finished up work.

Factory Cruise

FYI,

I called my Toyota dealer last week and they said Toyota now makes cruise for the Yaris, costs $416 installed. He has yet to get back to me to tel me when he can get it as they are out of stock presently. I'm definitely waiting for the Toyota product. Hope this helps for those people trying to decide.

Several Toyota dealers are distributors for Rosca products so it is possible that your dealer is one of those.

I just got it installed yesterday on my 2007 black sedan. It was $416 but that was worked in the amount i pay each month but i paid $113.00 for labor. So far it works excellent. I am going to Regina in 3 weeks from today, it is 759 kilometres(459 Miles). I am hoping if i drive 115 km an hour that i will make it there on one tank.

Has anyone discovered a good source to purchase the Rosca cruise control. Punch sent me the instructions and it looks fairly easy to install. On the manual transmission, it looks like no wires need to be routed to the engine compartment. On the auto transmission there is a wire that goes to the neutral switch, thus you have to route a wire through the fenderwell. I found a Scion site that sells Rosca products for their vehicles at very good prices. Would there be any interest on Yaris world in doing something similar? I understand there are many who will opt for dealer install but there must be a few of us willing to do the installs ourselves. Based on the instructions, I suspect the Rosca product is, in fact, the Toyota product. Please correct me if I'm wrong but it even includes connectors that interface directly to the accelerator harness. Toyota must have lent them a Yaris.
