Aux sound problem

I am new to here and one of the few sedan owners it looks like. I had a question regarding my aux jack. Everytime I use my ipod or satelite radio through the aux jack, The sound will not go all the way up. then when I turn it to the radio it is blasting then turn it back to aux the sound is way down even when i turn the volume all the way up. Is there anything I need to do to correct this problem? any help would be great.

Andy

What do you have the sound level at on the satellite radio? or your ipod? Or you may not have the aux cable plugged in all the way. There shouldn't be that much difference in sound level between aux and radio.

I have the sound level maxed out, i think it only goes to 63 if i am not mistaken. I checked the jack and it is in all the way. might have to take it to the dealer.

Some MP3s are not recorded at the same volume level as the CDA files (the ones on the music CDs you buy). As you may know, they are also at a slightly lower quality but most people cannot distinguish the difference.

When I play music off my Zune through the aux, it has a lower volume than if I play a CD in the deck. I would recommend getting an amp and new speakers if you are looking for a louder stereo...

Cheers! M2

I just came across this forum, and I have a problem with my AUX too. When it's plugged in with my ipod, only the right side of the speakers work. I'll always adjust the cable to make sure it's in all the way, and on rare occasions, it works and it'd correct itself. But most of the time, it doesn't work properly. Any ideas on how to help me? It's gotten to the point where I don't even use it anymore. Any advise would be great.

probably just a bad a cable... or it's not contacting if it's pushed all the way in. Try gettin a new aux cable and see if that works

I've purchased different cords for it before, but it still reacts the same. Thanks for the response. I appreciate the help.

Are you still using the stock stereo?

Here's a test wether or not your still using stock. Leave the car parked. Turn on the acc power so the radio comes on and start playing your ipod. Move the cable around a little near the connections. Not enough to bend anything but enough to see if it's making a solid connection. Or just hold you ipod and move it around. It's kinda like simulating driving down the road and hitting small bumps or something. See if that changes anything with the left speakers. And it might just be your ipod. Try using a portable cd player or a different ipod or something.

Does it do this if you put headphones in?

I'm still all stock. Thanks for the advise, buddy! I'll definately give it a shot.

No, it doesn't do this on headphones.

If it doesn't do that on headphones, I'd say it HAS to either be the cord or the stereos aux input.
