2007 Yaris...no cabin filter
I just checked to see if I could replace the cabin filter and not only does this car not have a filter, it doesn't even have the tray holder so that I could purchase one and put one in there.
I also opened the bottom flap (where you have the pinch the plastic tabs to open) and there is no filter in there either. What options do I have? What's the part number for the filter that would fit in the second slot since the top slot tray is missing? |

The Yaris does not have seperate tray holder for the cabin filter........ you just open the filter door and insert the filter.
Also, most Yaris' do not come with a cabin filter. Last edited by RedRide; 01-24-2012 at 11:43 PM. Reason: spelling |

Mine didn't either. I did add one myself.
It is behind the glove box and you have to open the cover on the fan housing to see where it goes. Mine came with a diagram in the box on exactly how to find where it goes and how to do it. |

Mine didn't come with one, and I don't think any Yarises meant for the US market came with one. The owner's manual comes with pictures that show how to install the air cabin filter. It's really easy to install. I bought my cabin air filter from a guy on Ebay. It's not an official Toyota/TRD one, but it fits perfectly.

DIY
There's a number of past threads on building & installing these with photos. I bet a search would find them.

If you're feeling really DIY you can buy a normal house HVAC filter and cut them into small pieces. I do this and it works perfectly.

toyota p/n: 87139-YZZ08.
this is the cheaper line, instead of the factory replacement part. big price difference, basically the same filter. the only time we use the factory, is in case of it being billed on a warranty repair. |
