I'm trying to run a cable from the newly purchased neons, from under the hood into the cabin of the car, only one problem , I don't know where to do it, I saw a bunch of cables going that way down by the clutch but, the hole looks imposibly small! any suggestions? this appears much harder in a smaller car than it was in my old nissan :) give me some hints please
![]() by the way, the ending connector has a 1 wide connector on it, how am i gonna fit it through that little hole even if i do manage to do it somehow with a coat hanger ? :) Last edited by Syroyizhka; 05-04-2009 at 05:36 PM. Reason: Really need help. |

follow the main harness on the drivers side of the car. It is right behind the battery. Use a cable puller and push it in from under the dash.

There's a good place in the passenger footwell.
Carefully pull up the carpet; its just tucked under the plastic trim pieces, and has velcro in one spot. Lift the white foam footrest and wooly mat below. Look for a rubber plug with a tube attached, up underneath the dash a bit and close to the center console--pop out the plug and you will find a nice 1" (or so) hole in the sheet metal. It comes out at the bottom of the engine bay (below the header)... easy access and plenty of places to secure your wires out of the way. I used this hole to install some gauge wiring, like you I had a good sized electrical connector to pass through the firewall. I simply trimmed the edge of the rubber plug to make room for the extra wire harness, and popped it back in. |

here yuh go homie
its on the left side of passenger footwell, looking at/under the glove compartment...pretty much the only rubber plug + tube yer gonna find under the carpet there ![]() looks like you don't even need to remove the white footrest or mat! I just remembered pulling all that shyt up for some reasonif you set a flashlight next to the hole, then look down into the back of your engine bay, you'll see right away where it comes out. so what color neons? ![]()

There is also a rubber stopper accessible from the engine bay, but you'll need to poke a hole in the carpet.

I got a multi color Neon system, with Red, Green, Blue, baby blue, purpulish, and yellow... they all have different blinking patterns, even to the sound of music, they can move at different speeds as well. Got it off ebay for 90 bucks shipped. Good deal, plus these are flexible, don't break or crack, look pretty legit. Thanks a whole lot for the pictures dude! you're my savior. I tried sticking the coat hanger from the engine bay behind the battery, but it was useless, I couldn't get it to go all the way through under the dash. But this is great access point! thanks again!
