Cap ontop of strut???

I have used multiple tools to remove but it wont budge.Tried large flat head screw driver, chissel with small 2x2 underneath for leverage but they wont budge in the slightest.

What am I doing wrong.

I was thinking of cutting apart with dremel then put new ones on.

Its 11"00 am here and want to get the fronts done today but this is a major setback.

Would 5 hours be enough to do the 2 fronts if I dont run into any more major issues?

Thanks letting me know what I am doing wrong.

Cowl is removed.
