acceleration
So guys, i decided to do a few acceleration/handling mods to my ts:
- lighter rims + swap from stock 205/45 R17 to 215/45 R16 - intake - i need suggestions - exhaust - same here - anything else except weight loss? I will take out rear seat if i go to the race track, but not for normal driving There are a lot of topics for intake and exhaust for 1.3l, but almost none for 1.8l. What diameter should i use? And another thing, i want to lose some torque in the low rpm, but want more in the high if that's possible ![]() I already have NST short shifter kit and bushing kit. In the end, what i want is to be able to go 0-60 in under 8 sec (7 would be nice if possible). Thanks guys |

Who said Yaris was slow?

You are on the wrong section of the forum... all your questions have been discussed on the TS sub forum.
First of all.... your car is already capable of doing less than 8 sec on the 0-60. Only with an intake I pulled a 7.6 sec 0-60 meassured with a G-tech pro. You just need to disable the track control and practice your launches. -Lighter rims... always a good choice. can't go wrong with that. - Intake? look for the AFE cold air intake for the Scion xD. that's the one you need. You can get it from Garm (cali Yaris ) here at the forum or on his store microimageonline.com Don't worry he can ship worldwide and will accomodate your needs.. -Exhaust: No aftermaket options. You need to go the custom route. Use 2.25" diam pipe. I even deleted the secondary cat. Look for my thread regarding the exhaust. there are some pics and more info there. -Anything else? Yes, NST just released their Underdrive crank pulley. Simple mod and should give you probably more gains than the exhaust... You can get it from microimageonline.com as well. or just contact Cali yaris Do all that ^^^ and you will be really happy. My car pulls much harder after all those mods. the smoothest up-shift is around 3500, and that is where the torque is a bit lower. if i shift around 2500-3000, i need to be really careful with releasing the clutch. maybe my thinking is wrong, not sure, but i'd really like to have nice and quiet drive in the city, and some sporty feel on the open road |
