Parking on hills in a manual

Hi, YWers. Just one more manual transmission question, I promise. When parking on a hill, I generally push the clutch in, push the brake in, pull the hand brake, shift into gear (reverse for downhill, any forward gear for uphill), turn the car off, then let up on the clutch and brake. Am I doing it right? Thanks in advance for any help on this question.
