Question What were they thinking?

I have the 2010 5 door liftback.

I know this is picky, but why is there only one cup holder?
Am I to share this single cup holder with my passengers?

Where are you supposed to store your cd's without a center console?
I have looked in all the storage spaces and some are wide enough but none are the proper size for holding a cd case. Maybe I need to hide my cd's in the hatch?

My 2009 3 door also is deficient in cd storage, compared to my ECHO. I can get two cds in the little nook by the parking brake. Does your have a nook there? I have to plan ahead with such limited sotorge. In so many ways the Yaris is a step down from the ECHO!

Yes I have noticed the nooks and will try placing the cd's there.
I like the Yaris but it's a very quirky car.

Yes I just found them. I was thinking they were coin holders and wondering why there were three of them. I think the bottle holders are a nice touch and I was able to fit two cd's in that space. I usually place my maps there. Still, I miss the center console.
You can't have everything. There were many little things about my Honda Civic I did not like.

Who carries CDs with them anymore? With MP3 players being a more convenient way to carry your tunes, why bother dragging your CDs to and from the car anymore? It's much easier to rip them to your iPod, Zune or even your smart phone, and save yourself the trouble!

My 08 hatch has five cup holders...two behind the front vents, one in the center console and two in the panels in the back seat. Since you can only carry five people in the car, that's one apiece!

Cheers! M2

I have 7 in my 2010 5 door. . . one bottle holder in each door (4), on in the center, and 1 on each corner vent (2). Toyota also has some sort of ash tray / cup holder assemble thing that snaps in, in that empty tray in front of the gear shift console that will add one more cup holder

Ive gotta say, its been a while since Ive taken CDs into my car also...

And because I dont want anyone eating or drinking in the car anyway, I find that there are way too many cupholders as it is!

I'm 60 years old and I am behind the times. Can you tell me how the WiFi and Bluetooth work? I thought Bluetooth was used for mobile phones and you wear an earpiece so you can talk hands free. I was one of the last ones to buy a vcr, a cd player, a pc, a dvd player and a cellphone. I feel like Davey Crockett; born on a mountain top in Tennessee. Older than dirt.

You can see how much I know. Actually, I posted earlier that the third day I had the car someone damaged it and kept on going. Smashed the taillight, rear bumper and put a nice dent in the rear quarter panel. Got the bill today for over $1,600.00. Fortunately, it was not my fault and the insurance company paid all but $250.00. I am so glad there is an Uninsured Motorist Fund. I am still discovering new things about the car. Today was my fourth actual day with the car since June 5th .
