What gauges you leave your SGII on?

UL - instant MPG
LL - *FIA, air intake temp
UR - AVG MPG, resets every startup
LR - *FWT, water temp

If there develops a trend through this thread for certain information displayed, it could probably be a good starting point for the CTScott YarGauge default display mode.

MPH (I never got used to reading the center speedo at an angle )

I will be changing Cost so far today to Engine load.

I also realized that mine has XGauge so I will be looking for other useful gauges.

I don't see how many hate the center gauges. They never bothered me, not even when the car was new! I kinda think gauges behind the steering wheel are weird lol.

I agree. And I bet most people have their SGII mounted on the center console. I do in my Tundra, easier to see.

Important information should be in front of the driver. As long as there are warning chimes, buzzers, whatever, I suppose it might not be *so* bad to have oil pressure and coolant temperature warning lights way over in the center of the dash. And I can even deal with the times I've been surprised to suddenly notice that the last bar of the fuel gauge is "flashing fast" when I'm on the highway in the middle of nowhere. But that center-mounted speedometer is nothing short of criminal.

The whole "center-mounted" bit is a cost-saving measure, implemented so that no matter which side the steering wheel is on in a particular market, the instruments are equally, but not quite completely, unusable. I think I determined, at one point, that the parallax of the speedo at 70 is about 4 mph.

The managers who approved that should be assigned mandatory community service time trying to bring Fukushima Daiichi under control, and given special radiation suits with all the warning indicators and gauges mounted on panels just in front of their right ears.

I kept mine there, too, but my velcro peeled off in the summer heat. The ethernet cable in the back is wadded up and I jammed in between the glove box and steering wheel. It stays there on its own quite nicely!

So did mine and left a sticky mess. This year I'm trying 3M Dual Lock like they use on the toll transponders. I'll let you know how it works.

Mine left no mess, just fell off one day. I thought about coming up with a solid mounting solution but decided against it since it stays on the column fine as it is. I've seen some creative mounting points for them though.

Does anyone have the new SG that supposedly displays power output? I have a first gen one, got it in May 2009.

I swear I got mine before then. Mine was relabeled as a "Fuel Efficiency Advisor". It doesn't say ScanGauge anywhere on it. But it is a ScanGaugeII with XGauge.

You can check bu entering MORE>MORE>MORE> and see if XGAUGE is a choice.

Used to have mpg but as its all over the place its kinda meaningless for every day use so i replaced it with speed readout.

1. Speedometer (Since the Yaris' center-mounted one is worse than useless.)

2. Tachometer (I do a lot of mountain driving, using engine braking extensively. Some of the grades I encounter in Colorado are up to 19%!)

3. Avg MPG.

4. Coolant Temperature (I get very nervous depending upon idiot lights.)

I'd really like to be able to include alternator voltage and GPH, too. Also horsepower, which is a custom X-gauge query I added to mine.
