Micro Image Lowering Springs Question
Just bought them but can't find anywhere about whether I need to cut the bump stops or not. Maybe I just suck with the search feature.
Garm? or Anyone that has them cut them or not? Can't wait to get them installed. |

Then why don't you go see someone that can install them.. like a garage or something, someone who know how to install them will know what to do with it.
Get some pics when done ;) |

^ tbh I would venture to say a lot of shops would not cut them and let you bottom out simply because its not always necessary so they may not know better
OP: yes cut them about in half along the urethane sleeve portion its super easy to cut them and it will prevent you from bottoming out. GL and enjoy. |

sorry, just saw this. The Tanabe DF210 instructions suggest cutting the bump stops in half. I think that is a fair amount for our springs as well. Pretty sure I have a PDF of spring install on our forums under the Downloads section.

I'm on the TRD suspension and I didn't cut mine. It specifically said NOT to. If you plan on upgrading your shocks any time down the line to match the springs, you shouldn't cut them.
Then again, even when I was on just TRD springs and stock shocks, I didn't cut mine and never bottomed out. Really, if you want that extra quarter inch or so, I suppose you could cut them. -C

Question on the MI springs: Is the writing, "Micro Image" supposed to be upside down when installed? I currently have one on right-side up, but it doesn't look right.

I've always know the writing to indicate what direction the springs go. So if your writing is upside down then the spring would be up side down.

so here's OEM vs MI (with writing correct-side up). It looks like the top of the OEM better matches the bottom of the MI. I tried putting the MI spring in right-side up, but the "hat" would be be angled against the nut.

Here's how I installed it (writing upside-down). It looks just like the OEM one. I've driven about ~15 miles on them so far,and everything seems ok. Been smooth road though. Tomorrow will be a little more bumpier as I head to work...

That is incorrect. Writing goes right side up.

the "top" and "bottom" in the first pic dont look different to me on the MI spring so i dont see the difference that caused you to want to flip it
