MI in-cabin short shifter

Frustrated by the lack of support for the Yaris by companies-who-shall-not-be-named, we've produced our own in-cabin short shifter kit.

Comes with the installation tool AND the Allen wrench you need AND the price is $10 less than before!

This can be combined with our engine bay kit for even SHORTER shifts than either kit offers alone.

If you just use the under hood short shifter, it binds the cable and thus you get the notchiness. you have to relocate the cable itself (which is what the bracket does in Garm's previous kit).

this new short shifter is for the other end of the cable and goes right on the shifter itself. you can put on both and have an extremely short shift though the Y axis is the only thing that changes. the X axis is like it was stock. I wish they would make one for the X axis too.

+1...

Garm/Jeff, is that doable with any sort of add-on mod? Just curious...

^ The in-cabin short shifter shortens BOTH axes.

^ Yep, we do sell just the bracket for those who bought the "incomplete" NST short shifter. Best with the short shifter AND the bracket.

wait, how does that work? how does it shorten both???

I ask out of pure ignorance as I assumed this lengthened one of the knobs on the end of the shifter and thus altered one cable attachment but the other was still stock.

I am really interested in this (even before I found out about the whole X axis thing).

thanks for any clarification.

^ There is only one "knob" at the bottom of the shifter, which affects both cables, where the extension goes. With the short shifter (aka "extension"), to move the bottom the same distance as stock (necessary to complete the shift movement), you move the top (where the shift knob is) a shorter distance than stock.

Not entirely true. The ball at the bottom only does the fore/aft movement, the nub on the side does the cross-car. The cross-car can't be directly altered because of the linkage, but altering the length of the upper shaft will shorten the overall throw.

sorry for the noob question..I remember seeing an old post that said the 09+ is somewhat different than the 07-08 shifter assembly? Can anyone elaborate or confirm this?
