Question about Yaris Tire Rims
Hello,
Could someone please tell me why I have a problem with Tire Rims 14x5.5 but the 14x5 work perfectly? The 14x5.5 were rubbing against my front calipers and on the rear were making a grinding noise whenever I came to a complete stop. This doesn't happen with my 14x5 rims. I am not a mechanic so just for my own knowledge would like to find out the answer to this. What is the stock size 14" rims for the Yaris 2006 RS Hatchback? My summers are on 15" but my winters are on 14". Thanks for your help and I apologize for this dumb-sounding question... |

Question about Yaris Tire Rims
Where did you get the 14x5.5s from? Obviously the curvature or shape of the rim is such that it does not clear the calipers enough. Don't know why you would experience a grind in the rear tho. Sounds more to me like you have a brake shoe totally worn out.

One of the local Tire Shops told me that was what their 'book' info was. I went to the Dealership and they got me the 14x5 that work well. I feel like I was a bit taken for a ride with those 14x5.5 rims...
Thank you. |

Thank you for your advice. I appreciate it. The place where I got the winters and rims says that they are right so I'm stuck with them as big paperweights. The other thing that happened was that 3 of the 4 tires were good coming off those rims but the shop had used too much sealant around the tire that the 4th one shredded taking it off. The dealership was great and though I told them it wasn't their fault, they gave me a replacement of the same tire at no charge.
It teaches me that my dealership is the only place I will ever take my Yaris to. |

You can probably get those wheels to clear the calipers by using 5mm wheel spacers.
