Does +43mm rub?

I'm about to buy some wheels for the yaris.
16x7 +43mm offset.
I know for a fact that +42mm rubs, and that +45mm does not rub. Do you think +43mm would rub? its only a millimeter more than the +42mm, but it might be just that millimeter that makes the difference?
Don't ask me if the car is lowered or not, because that doesn't make a difference.. having a full car with passengers and stuff in the trunk is the same as lowering, or when you go over a bump or dip hard-enough the suspension will travel just as low.

i run a 15x7 +25mm in the rear and i don't rub with a 205/55/15.

suspension has nothing to do with it. it just means the factory springs/shocks have to be compressed an additional 1" before rubbing occurs. if you bottom out aftermarket suspension or factory suspension, you end up at the same height.

i was trying to find rota subzero's in full royal gunmetal but no-one seems to carry them, and its apparently 6-7months to special order direct from rota.

strange. when I changed suspensions I stopped rubbing.

but you're right suspension has nothing to do with wheel fitment.

if you're lowered on aftermarket springs there is a chance you'll rub constantly (FYI, that's bad).

where if you were stock you'd only rub under heavy load.

that's the reason we ask.

some people are ok with little rubbage after serious dips.

Rub constantly = Bad
Rubbing only a little at certain times = ok for some people
not rubbing ever = good.

to determine such things knowing your suspension setup is a factor. :)

and a car on DF210s with a full hatch is very low. :lol:

the 57Maximums are great wheels, I had a set on my STi.

do it post pictures and tell us how you're rub free.

oh and if you do start rubbing you can always add some camber, the yaris likes a little camber :)

Also, I rubbed pretty badly with my setup originally but that was b/c my toe was sooo fucked up from the suspension install that it caused rubbing.

once the toe was fixed I had no more rubbing up front. :)

^ yea that's true too. i was planning on doing a 205 so that's why its important that I run a +45mm offset. Are there any wheels with a +48mm offset? That's closer to stock.. stock is +52mm IIRC. Seems like the higher of the offset the better, for almost any car. I know with my Mazda3 I ran a +50mm offset to fit 225/40R18's. On my lexus, if i run +50 i can get 245's in the front, and with a +53mm in the rear I can run 275's.

I dont understand why aftermarket wheels always have such low offsets? These wheels are for my girlfriends car, so in the end the style decision is up to her. I like the Gram Lights, but I think she wants Rota SubZero's in a Full Royal Polished finish. (i'll at least get full royal gunmetal, so its not super bright bling bling)

you could get her the original Racing Heart wheels too they come in a nice offset for 16"

the key is the "correct" offset for the given vehicles usage, suspension, alignment, and tire choice.

"higher" isn't always better for the offset especially when you're upgrading suspension as alot of coilovers are larger then the stock struts which can cause rubbing issue on higher offset wheels.

why do you want a 205?

I myself am running 17x7 42mm wheels with 205/40 tires with no rubbing when I've bottomed out or doing full u-turns. I've read a lot of post here with users claiming to have no rubbing with 42mm offset wheels. Even people running bigger tire sizes then the one you're considering. Some post mention rubbing, but most of them dont have issues from what I've read.
