So...I cracked a weld...
Its official, I might be the first confirmed case of a Megan Exhaust taking a crap on their owner...lol
I noticed earlier this week that my car was louder, I figured prolly something was loose or I had a leak somewhere... I checked the gasket where the axleback is, its tight and even. Then I decided to go ahead and check to see if I had a crack in the muffler, piping, whatever...nope, not that either. So then I decided to check the welds around the "flange" where the axleback meets to the midpipe, yep...there it was, inside weld has a small crack in it. Best part about it all, I never hit ANYTHING within the last week, month, or even a year that would cause the damage to the exhaust...lol Only plus side to this is, my car sounds a bit meaner, It "putts" a bit now while engine braking. Completely noticeable change in the sound and loudness of the exhaust. New Header/Exhaust setup coming soon! Contemplating a straight pipe, 2.25'', double res, center tip exhaust. I dont mean to turn this into a debate thread, but it more than likely will become that. Just sharing my story and learnings along the way to building a better car.

I cracked the tranny mount and one of the shifter cables on my Yaris... And it's only 20K miles.
Toyota sucks...

I think JT258 cracked his Megan header but he didn't put the spring for the bolts thats why his cracked

Hmmmm. I just installed a Megan header on my Yaris but I was not able to reuse the Toyota factory bolts (with the spring around them) when connecting the Megan header to the mid-pipe. My Toyota mechanic buddy says that connection is designed to flex, that's why the bolts have the springs. I could not reuse them on the Megan header because they do not match the factory thread pitch. In my opinion, that was a big engineering boo boo on Megan's part.
I'm currently dealing with an air/fuel sensor issue so I don't have any seat time with the Megan header yet.

Call Megan. They're really good about customer service. They might send you a weld in the mail or something.

Herbicidal don't drill out the header just go to a parts store and get the right thred pitch bolts then reuse the springs with the new bolts

nope...a large thick washer works fine on a smaller bolt when trying to compress a spring...just need something to guide the spring to keep it somewhat center. Ghetto-fab sometimes works.

Well...the thread is about the Megan Exhaust Axleback exhaust, not their header.
