Rim size

Hi! Just wanted to know smthng. I've got a 2006 yaris sedan and am actually running 14 inch rims. If I switch to 15 or 16 inch rims, will the car become slower?

Not really, the idea is to keep the same diameter no mater what wheel size you get, for example my Yaris came with tires that measure 23.7 inches in diameter, when changing to other wheels I'll try to get a tire with same diameter. Not always possible some times a little bigger or smaller.

If smaller your car would be a little faster, if you get a bigger diameter your car will be a little slower.

Go through this THREAD it has a lot of information for wheels and tires. or click on this Link: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5021

Just remember that weight plays a factor too.

hi Billiam,
so for example, if i switch to 15" rims and reduce the weight on the vehicle, the difference would be hardly noticeable, right?

the weight of the wheels is more important than what's above the suspension. The rotating mass of the wheels effect everything a lot more, weight wise. That is why the light weight 15's are really popular.
