Yay. After that, we'll have to get together and have a Vendor's Meeting.

Because this is such an extremely small project with a limited market potential and I'm not formally a business, I've already been using YouTube as my point of personal contact because it's free. So I'll be posting some descriptive tooter videos and its intake modification issues, as well as a video of the second dyno runs.

Hey tooter...i was thinking. I think you took my original statement as making your intakes. What i was referring to was of course assembling one for mine using your platea...however i was talking about making a intake to match up to the manifold...and perhaps make a few more for others just to help people out.

^ You can make any parts you want. A flange for the head isn't proprietary, and neither is a TB adaptor. The manifold itself was designed by Toyota. I personaly wouldn't copy the parts because of (1) professional courtesy, (2) such a small market, and (3) it doesn't make power (that part is just an educated guess at this point).

An intake to go with what tooter made would be really cool and complementary.

Hey malibu,
Of course, that's what the kits will be for.

I'm not sure I know exactly what you mean. By "intake to match up to the manifold", you mean intake as in short ram or cold air intake air filter assembly to fit onto the throttle body?

It sure isn't, Garm.
The guys from Puerto Rico did it first. All I did was have the parts made to do what they did.

And I'm relying heavily on them having done a good job of it.
You know, this would have been a serious problem if they were still making those manifolds, but since they're all at least decade-old junk yard parts and have long since been rendered obsolete by plastic manifolds, they've sort of fallen into the public domain.

I've already been driving the car a lot... and am pretty certain that the torque curve is going to have some ups and downs! And I still don't know about the top end because of the T shirt issue.

Hey, are you or Jeff going to be around the shop Saturday morning?

If you have a black 2.5 inch silicone 90 degree connector, I'll drop by and buy one from you. The Post office is clueless as to what happened to the shipment. the tracking number shows acceptance of the parcel, but there is no electronic information after that. It's not the ebay sellers fault either. The guy has been both responsive and communicative.

I do too! That's a super idea.

^ I might well be around tomorrow morning. Might be racing, though. Email me at mcroimg@gmail.com so we can communicate that way -- I don't access the forums from my phone.

Like Garm said, it's all a matter of signing up as a vendor and paying your monthly fee (which is around $60 IIRC).

Thanks, tk... I'll sign up when I'm ready to sell.

Thanks to Garm stocking a 90 degree silicon coupling, I now have an intake that fits the tooter perfectly...

It's an ESRI... Extremely Short Ram Intake.
Even though that filter is way oversized and difficult to fit into that small space I didn't want to lose it because that would also mean having to lose the velocity stack.

Hey Malibu...

If you use a smaller filter, it won't be nearly as difficult to come up with an intake. I just wasn't going to give up using that really cool velocity stack no matter what, so I made it work. A CAI would be even easier for you to fabricate because the cramped space would not be a factor since the pipe would be going into the fenderwell anyways.

So the ingredients to make this intake are:

Weapon R Dragon Short Ram polished aluminium intake tube, cut in half
BLOX 2.5" x 6" Velocity stack, mounting flange cut short
BLOX dry 6" matching dry element air filter
black 2.5" 90 degree coupling, ends trimmed short
black 2.25" straight coupling, trimmed short

These make a smooth flowing very low restriction intake.

I specifically chose the Weapon R tube because the MAF sensor mount is very close to the throttle body, and so could allow for severe cutting while still retaining its operational integrity.

I'll go install it now and post a pic of it on the engine.
