Help me!

So my brother purchased this 07 yaris hatchback a couple years back. It was a salvaged car so it was in a front end collision which means some parts of the front like bumper etc. were replaced. One this i noticed that is really ghetto is the hood support rod. It is a redline aftermarket support rod obviously not meant for this car. I want to purchase a genuine hood support rod since it looks better and it fits the car right. This support rod i have now has no place to be put. It just dangles and sits on whatever you put it on like the battery or sometimes on the alternator belt which is harmful to the car. I was wondering if someone can take some pictures or explain how the genuine hood support rod is attached in the car and if i will need anything besides the suppport rod and the support rod clip. Thank you

It's a small pic, but it ought to do...

The prop rod clips into the battery mount strap:

Hope that helps.

The OEM rod mounts in a plastic pivot just behind the left headlight. The holder is a plastic block that snaps onto the battery hold-down.

The OEM rod is part number: 53440-52140, and the OEM holder is: 53452-52010.
