The Yaris is doing exactly what we bought it for. Providing cheap transportation with little fear of future cost of ownership being too high. I've adapted my driving style to consistently get great mileage compared to other vehicles out there and so far the only thing showing wear and tear on the car after over 42,000km is the crappy paint.
