As such, they have a MUCH higher strength-to-weight ratio than cast wheels. The forging is 1.5X as strong (35,000 PSI YIELD vs. 24,000 PSI YIELD for the casting). In other words, the forged wheel could weigh roughly TWO-THIRDS that of its cast counterpart and still be just as strong. |
