a couple of things confuse me about your statements. you dont want to see TOO much of the calipers, but you want 17's....which will really show off how tiny the stock brakes and calipers are....
you also want to minimize unsprung weight, but again want 17's....which are generally heaver and push weight further out from the wheels' center. all that aside, get light rims. oem 15" alloys are about 18lbs by themselves. personally, the best combonation of looks and performance would be light weight 16's....not TOO much tire, but enough to maintain more comfort, AND likely easier to find lighter ones.... i notice a HUGE difference in acceleration and braking going from my 14" steelies w/ 185-60-14 and crandalls car w/ 17's and 215-40-17
