Generally the rear brakes only account for about 30% of your braking power. Any changes you make need to be balanced with the front brakes or the rear wheels will lock up and lengthen your stopping distance. (Assuming you don't have ABS.)
Disc brakes are harder to use with a parking brake. Most cars with 4-wheel discs have an auxiliary parking brake drum. |
