Seconded. I own an impact, and NEVER use it to install lug nuts, plated or not! Torque wrench only.
I learned my lesson when a tire shop stretched every wheel stud on my old car. True, the studs weren't the standard size ("normal"), but it was an unnecessary waste of time and money to replace them all. |
