For the connection to the pin 40 wire, you are probably better off hitting it near the ECM and then coming through the grommet just above the ECM. Splice with a tap, or strip and solder, and then wrap with good (3M) electrical tape to seal.

To do the AD4 connection, you'd really need to remove the top of the dash. It's too far to reach from under.

For the ground connection, you can go down to the driver's kick panel, or you can ground to the metal support structure for the dash (there are a few bolts that you can get a terminal under).

maybe I am just very slow, but I cannot find how to remove the top dash.
