As a dealer tech working for autonation toyota, I have never and never seen anybody adjust or "reset and verify" timing chain tension. Leave them alone. If it ever rattle, which is 1 in a million, get it checked. But other than that, leave it alone.

^^^^^This. Trini, who happens to have an old post on this thread, has over 535,000 miles on the original engine in his Yaris and he hasn't had any timing chain issues.
