I jack mine up on the right side, but it doesn't really matter, I put a short drain pan under it, remove plug and let car back down until all the oil is drained out, then jack it back up to reinstall plug and change filter. Be careful not to lose the sealing washer on drain plug, if it's missing replace it so you don't have to over torque plug to keep it from dripping, that's how a lot of oil pans get striped out.
