Being in the automotive lubrication business for many years now, I can tell you that it doesn't REALLY matter what oil you use. The ONLY important thing is that you actually DO change your oil regularly. I have seen Dodge pickups run over 300,000 miles on Quaker State 30W. That is not an oil I would use personally, but you can't argue with results. Changing the oil is much more important than what brand of oil you use when you change it.

That said, I use only Valvoline motor oils in all my vehicles. Period.

I'll second that motion; it's the neglect that really kills a vehicle. Plus, we know synthetics are better than conventional. Therefore, I change mine with Mobil 1 every five thousand miles, and the other car gets Pennzoil synthetic at the same interval. Both run like a champ!

+1

5K with dino, 7.5K and up with most synths. another thing people always forget to maintain is tire pressure. if you want good mpg and to avoid a blowout on the highway, check them bad boys every week...

I would never do 5k with dino. Unless maybe its a very high quality dino oil. Most poeple reccomend 3k because after that you start to really get sludge buildup. Especially if you get your oil changed at any quick oil change place. They all use bulk oil which is the lowest grade recycled oil.

Oh yeah btw I use either 5w-20 amsoil and when its not available i use royal purple

An entire fleet of Toyota engineers, quality testers, risk analysts and lawyers wholeheartedly disagree with you as their recommendation is 5k miles. Anything more often is a waste of money and resources.

Back on topic: I run Mobil1 5W-20 EP synthetic and a K&N Gold oil filter for the 15k mile drain interval.

Agreed. Today's 5k OCI is yesterday's 3k OCI...oils have improved along with improved engine design.
