x2

thats what i did, my garage has pics of the set up. im running two glasspacks...pretty loud, but good flow and excellant tone. make sure even if you get a turbo style muffle on the end to run a long glasspack right after the cat if you want a nice deep tone. my current set up was the best flowing and cheapest i tried, but second best flowing and sounding was a borla turbo muffler on the end with a long glasspack down the middle of the car.

the borla doesnt flow as well as the shorty glasspack i have now, and it was only slightly louder than stock. good setup if you want performance and silence.

Most exhaust shops use alumnized tubing, so the only thing that will rust are the welds.
True that. I just helped a buddy out with his Evo X. The shop used aluminized tubing, and about two weeks later we pulled it off to paint it (for him, it was about looks). The welding was showing some surface rust, but the tubing was looking okay. Some prep work, a couple of cans of high temp in flat black, and it looks pretty good.

at3GG / Racerfreak: You can do like this guy. No need to hack up your stock exhaust. He had an entire exhaust made up. He needed to take it to the dealership for reflash, so he swapped the stock exhaust back in. Didn't take long either

racerfreak Regarding the 2.25"/2.5" in/out, i thought maybe Flowmaster had one, but a quick search through their 40 series and 60 series didn't show one. It seems the only time I see different sizing in/out is when it's a dual outlet design.

thanks! (I sprayed it). The price was fairly cheap too. I plan on doing similar for my yaris, but I can't decide which muffler to go with. I think I was quoted about 175, which included a Magnaflow muffler. This would be for an axleback.

Axleback is just easier to me.
You can get a custom axleback for $150. Less if you don't want a loud muffler.

My axleback cost me $70.

Sounds good. If you want one I can send you to the muffler shop that did it for me.

sorry that didnt work either only because rust also will come from the inside weld of the pipe...

True, but it will take many many years for it to be a problem if you protect the outside of the pipe.

You could send it off to be thermal coated if you are really worried about it.

imo if you are that worried about a $200 exhaust you shouldn't have bought the exhaust... I can understand if you spent 1k on it but no yars exhaust cost that much or should ever
