Doesn't changing the pulley affect the engine balance? There has to be some drawback or Toyota engineers would have done this in the first place, no ?

no, this kind of question always appears. the fact is, unless the manufacturer of said product gives either a 'donation' or the likes to the car manufacturer,or the manufactureres both want to test out a product on a standard issue car, or the car manufacturer wants to make a performance version of the car. most of the time you may see some dealerships with a special vehicle equipped to the teeth with mods. its for sales and sponsors and promos....
