You should never get under a car with just the roadside flat tire jacks, they are too unstable... you really need jack stands... I'm pretty sure you have to lift the car to put it on.. the weight of the car will not let you remove the bolt you need to remove to install it (I would imagine the shock might pop out and possibly hurt you)
