ahhh. i thought maybe where i got the Tach wire signal from , there might be a wire i can piggback off. then how does the Scangauge get speed data from the OBD2 port ? must be one of those wires sending speed info ?

You'll need to find the wire going to the gauge cluster with the tach signal for your application. For reference, the common wires in the OBDII connector are simply 2xData, 1xground and 1xpower. The scanguage reads the serial data and processes it for it to display to you.
