I wonder if a forward facing vent would increase lift in the front. It seems it would direct air down past the engine and under the car. I think a rear vent (like the Kaminari reverse cowl hood) would direct air up and over the car, increasing downforce in the front where it's needed..

In the Yaris, I don't think it would be an isue. It is only an econobox and the little (if any) negative downforce woud not be noticable.

When I installed my raised scoop on my Celica, the owner of the body shop (who painted it) raised the same concernns but, it has proved not to be a problem at all even at very high highway speeds.
