Something else I wanted to add, my dealership, has free internet, free food, and a sitting area with newspapers, tv, and such, and a kidsroom.

$399 can quickly become a bunch more if you rolled it into your loan.

How much does an oil change cost if you pay out of pocket?

You also have to consider that you might have trouble down the road if you have engine trouble under warranty and you don't have the maintenance paperwork trail.

I still have not decided whether or not I will do my own oil changes or not. It depends on how much the dealer charges.

My dealership has the same stuff and the mall is right across the street if it looks like it's going to take awhile.

Didn't your gradmother ever tell you that nothing in life is free?

Somebody has to pay for all that "free" stuff. Can you guess who that "somebody" is? Clue ... it's not the dealer.

They chalk that up to marketing expense. It obviously works.

I honestly don't mind getting service done. When I bought my truck the A/C didn't work so I had to bring it in to have them diagnose and fix the problem.

It took 3 hours and it was reaallly nice just relaxing for awhile.
