yaris engine oil ?

Ok....here's what's going to happen. You're going to get a different answer with each post. Everyone has their favorite oil and filter. There is no "best" oil. There will be an argument or 2 about which oil "better"...usually from the synthetic users...my oil can beat up your oil type stuff. Then after a few days the thread will probably be locked. No worries though, as a new one will pop up right behind it.

So...go to your favorite store and find some 5w-20 and a filter and be happy. Any and all modern oils (dino and synth) will protect your engine just fine for 5000 miles (however many KMs that is). The most important thing is to follow the recommened intervals and proper oil weight.

Oh...and for the record...I've used Castrol GTX and a PureOne filter on all of my cars for as long as I can remember.

Now excuse me...as I go pop some popcorn and sit back and watch another oil thread "evolve".

Exactly!

Any compitent mechanic will tell you that most all modern oils are basically the same and the important thing is to just change it frequently.

BTW, as I understand it "high milage" oil is just oil with some added detergents to help clear out sludge. However if you change it often you will not have sludge to begin with.
