Ok, thanks for the reply.

So your dead amp was your mid-bass.
How do you control the freq's to your mid-bass drivers?
I would think you would want a narrow range on them. Something like 80hz-250hz.
Then you could let your SUB take everything below 80hz, and your mids can have everything above 250hz until the tweeter takes over at maybe 6k-ish?

I see sub amps have an LPF crossover, but nothing that would allow me to cut the low bass at 80hz. Some have a subsonic filter, but these are usually around 15-30hz.

So how do you only send those mid-bass freq's to the mid-bass drivers?
( You are probably going to tell me your Carrozeria HU can do it. )

A high-end vented 15" is an earthquake machine.
More SUB than most cars ever need.
MTX 9500 series.
But I know you like your fancy boutique stuff.

Audison Thesis is probably the best stuff I know about.
I have no idea what is better than the Thesis stuff.
All that stuff is so unbelievably expensive, at that level, it doesn't even matter.
I think all the higher-end consumer stuff is too expensive.

I think $500 for a single AMP is too much.

I think if you spend more money on the audio system, than what the car is worth, you FAILED!

But I see it all the time. Dudes rolling around in POS cars, with thousands of dollars worth of audio gear in them. Ghetto rats.
Everytime their generic 12's hit a beat, the whole car rattles.
Two 12" BOSS subs in a bandpass box in the trunk = FAIL

Of course, if you are competing, and that is your hobby, then that is a whole different story.
( or maybe it's your career )

Yeah! that's the beauty of the Carrozeria AKA P-99 that I've been talking about, the HU has o watts for speakers but comes with 4 outputs:

Sub
Low
Mid
High

It's like heaven on earth controlling each individual speaker any way you want.

sqcomp can give you more details about these HU, I can only tell you that this is what I've been looking for all my life.

Yup, I had a feeling about that.

I do love 4-way systems, although I have heard plenty of 3-way systems that sound great too.

Derick, when are you gonna FINISH your system ???

Finish? finish what? I'm going 50 mph slower that sqcomp, and looks like the never ending story!

I think my problem is that I have every thing working but not properly installed, Lows in the doors, sub in the trunk (a 10" bazooka tube temporarily installed) and yes I have my mids and tweeters on the dashboard and with towels I hold them and tested every aiming position/direction available.

Pretty much I have everything where I like it, and sounds AMAZING!

But yes I should keep working on the real/final installation.

If I could have 36 hour days...

So you are trying to do a 4-way system?
What amps are you running for all this?

Ditch that Bachuka sub and get yourself a real one!

Didn't you say you just lost your job ???
Now you got lotsa time to finish your install!

Yes I'm running a 4 way system with a Pioneer HU P-99

I have 3 Pioneer amps:

1. 300 watts x 1 for sub
2. 65 watts x 4 for mids and highs
3. 75 watts x 2 for lows

The Bachuka it's for my other car (corolla) I'm going to use 3 x 10" Solo-Barics. But because my rear suspension was so soft and my tires rubbing, I was using the Bachuka, believe it or not it doesn't sound like a Bachuca! it sounds pretty good, it must be the P-99's magic!

Yes I did get layoff a couple weeks ago, and I though I was going to have more time, but it's the other way. Besides my family it's very happy to have me at home more than just weekends. I'm working part time with a friend of mine (a civil engineer) learning new stuff and drawing plans, but he lives 62 miles away from home! Long commute. Lots of time to hear music!
