Or, maybe the Yaris is what a Yaris is. And the truth hurts sometimes.

I was just saying that it's true that the performance sucks, that's all. I like the value you get out of it and the mileage savings, but that's about it. Oh, and I do like the way it looks.

The Yaris 106 HP is more than adequate for this class. Others may have a little more power, but they are still slower. The Yaris's main failures (according to the auto press) is... - numb electric steering feel (I personally love the feel and performance ) - overall lack of driving feel and performance (non-speed related) - seating position/comfort - steering wheel too far away (no telescoping) - before later safety upgrades, 2007-2008 models were criticized for the lack of standard side airbags, ABS, stability control, ect.. |

Who the hell wants a computer driving their car for them? I know I don't... Well I guess that means only 2 since it's hard to criticize a side airbag. They're pretty damn useful. But still. ABS and traction control are computers attemping to make up for american's inability to sufficiently operate the cars they own. I don't blame Americans though because even a mentally handicapped person who can't speak english can pass the driver's test sadly. There's a reason the best roads, the best drivers, and the best cars are found in Europe. /endtangent edit: Also i'm with jumpman on this one. seems like firemachine woke up one day to a yaris in his driveway and hates his life for it... |

I know it sounds silly, but I have to wonder what kind of driving feel people are looking for. After driving a short wheel base Jeep for 12 years, I'm kind of glad I don't have to feel every nuance of the road and on the opposite side of the spectrum it's nice be free of floaty luxury car or modern truck suspensions. I don't know, but I like the stock Yaris suspension, it just seems balanced to me ... but there's always the plethora of aftermarket modifications.
