for me I used the Toyota genuine motor oil and changed every 2500km as the oil is cheap. I am not that fan of synthetic due to coating effect.
Trust me, changing oil in shorter intervals will have engine longebility and far more better than using long interval synthetics. I live in Saudi Arabia on extreme HOT  and sandstorm weather conditions....HiH
