It is a manual. I have read some reporting better here, but the last two tanks seem to be just over 40mpg. This has been mostly all in-town driving. I am not sure if a long trip will get me better.

Oops , I think it is stated . Sorry , the eyes aren't what they were . Very good gas mileage . We had a 3 door with the 5 speed . Miss it . Did get over 43 with it a few times . Better pick up with the stick .

Hershey, it was not there. I changed it after you asked me if it was auto or not.

I like the manual. Other than work vehicles, I have never owned a vehicle with an automatic transmission. So, when I found the Yaris and saw it was a manual, I took that as a sign to buy it.

However, first gear can be a little tricky. I don't know if it is the wireless throttle, quietness of the engine, low idle or what, but I find it a little tricky starting off under certain conditions. I am better with it now, but I still need to get better.
