newbie exhaust question...

I wonder if the stock exhaust will thwart the header gains? This is the main reason I havent looked at headers yet. I figure to optimize, you need a larger bore exhaust to help the header move air.

It might, but I don't believe so because the header torque gains would be at low rpms when the stock exhaust system is far below it's maximum capability. I'll be using gas mileage as an indicator of how well this approach works.

That would be absolutely essential if you want more power at high rpms. It really suprized me how many really neato exhaust systems are available for these little cars.
