Towing a manual yaris - Toyota Yaris Forums

Two possible reasons:
-For automatic transaxle, the torque convertor (and ATF pump) is on the input shaft of the gearbox. Towing will wind up the gears, but the pump is not circulating the ATF through the cooler. Manual transaxle splashes gear oil naturally, regardless of either the input or output shaft is the driving the gears.
-As Betrivent said: recharge the battery.

Except, according to the owners manual, you are NOT supposed to dinghy tow an automatic equipped Yaris.
