Towing a manual yaris
Hey guys will towing a manual yaris that isn't in gear hurt anything? Assuming all 4 wheels on the ground. Will it spin parts that shouldn't spin without the engine running?

Huh what the reason for letting the engine idle for 3 minutes after towing it?

I was wondering about that, too.
The only cause I can come up with is that during towing, any parts of the transmission connected to the flywheel are not in motion. These transmission parts are everything that's on the engine side of the neutral disconnect, which may include some gear clusters. Running the engine before driving spins these formerly inert parts insuring that they are properly bathed in oil before becoming engaged to the load of moving the vehicle. |

Also for the fact that you've left the car in ACC for an extended amount of time and it needs to be recharged a bit with power

Two possible reasons:
-For automatic transaxle, the torque convertor (and ATF pump) is on the input shaft of the gearbox. Towing will wind up the gears, but the pump is not circulating the ATF through the cooler. Manual transaxle splashes gear oil naturally, regardless of either the input or output shaft is the driving the gears. -As Betrivent said: recharge the battery. |

Hmmm 3 minutes of idling isnt charging a battery that has been powering the car on ACC for 500 miles.
In any case if the engine starts the battery will charge while just driving the car. Why idle it to charge? Doesnt make sense. Although it may well be what T thinks......
