How - dunno?? Not a lot of info on this: The transmission final drive gear ratio for the gas engine was modified from the stock 4.23:1 to 3.2.

This was all done in 2004... so prob not much of a record anymore. Jetta set one this past year at 186mph but using a 1.4L with a turbo. Class - H/PS. The class is for production cars with engines of less than 1.5 liters that use forced induction. So not in the same class as the Prius...

Just did the first fillup with the 1ZZ throttle body, and it hasn't hurt the mileage any.

37.8 mpg, all in cool 40-60 degree weather including a few 5th gear freeway miles. The idle is all fine tuned now and ready for some silicone. No chance of a dyno this week due to work. But next week has better prospects.

Red: stock manifold + stock 1NZ FE throttle body
Blue: tooter manifold + stock 1NZ FE throttle body
Green: tooter manifold + Corolla 1ZZ FE throttle body
