This is the next step... punch a hole to insert the bellmouth.

Hey Cranky,

The plan is to get a round piece of 1/8th inch aluminum plate to fit the hemisphere, and cut out the rounded square shape of the runner retainer.

There will be two welding steps. First, weld the plate onto the manifold runner retainer, and then weld the hemisphere onto the plate. I'll also be inserting three aluminum tubes where the blue dots are for the hoses, so they'll also need to be welded into place.

Aah, that makes sense.

Curious-er and curious-er. This thing really is going to look alien when you're done!

Yes. The hose fittings are the antennae!

The manifold will be a lot more compact because a hemisphere is the most volume efficient shape for a plenum. This will move the throttle body to the left which is closer to its original stock location.

I'm totally curious as to what the effect will be as there are no flat surfaces for the reflected pulses from the mouths of the runners to bounce off of. The entire inner surface of the plenum, including the 180 degree rounded bellmouth of the throttle body bore, is 100% curved.

I just gotta find out what will happen. And the sales of the tooter products have bought the freedom to explore...
