Are these little tiny flecks of rust in the paint?

If so, this happens on all cars, but you can actually see it on white cars. A claybar will remove it. I've owned four white cars, and they all get this. It's often referred to as environmental fallout.

However, if it's not this, I got nothin'. :D

Thank you. I'm not sure: I'll have to look a bit closer after work. Is this just "junk" from the road that embeds itself in the paint?

Yes. Unless this is something more than just environmental fallout. Could you post a pic?
